Research and scholarship strengthen the teaching and learning environment and invigorate intellectual inquiry across the University of San Diego.

Our faculty collaborate with undergraduate and graduates students on interdisciplinary research and scholarship that focus on real-world problems. Their scholarship is guided by a desire for impact — impact on their field, locally and around the globe.

The university's academic centers and institutes bring faculty and students together to pursue research, service and outreach on scholarly and social topics such as:

  • Energy policy issues

Our centers and institutes offer faculty and students unique learning and research opportunities and provide direct benefits and services to the San Diego, national and international communities.

Michel Boudrias NSF grant Recent Grant Awards USD faculty actively pursue external funding for their research and scholarly projects. The Office of Sponsored Programs works with faculty to identify funding.
