On June 2, 2024, Mexicans elected their country’s first-ever woman president, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. Emily Edmonds-Poli, professor of political science and international relations, returned to “At the Edge of It All” to break down the election that had the largest voter turnout in that country. She discusses the magnitude of a woman being elected to lead Mexico, some of the political challenges she’ll face, and how she might tackle issues with global implications, especially Mexico’s relationship with the United States, as this country prepares to elect a new president of its own.

The "At the Edge of it All" podcast is offered in English and, when available, in Spanish. You can listen to the podcast episode here.
