This is your USD News Minute.

Congratulations to the more than 170 engineering students who participated in this year’s Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering and Computing Showcase, where they had a chance to present their innovative capstone design projects. At hand to kickoff this wonderful event was none other than our very own alum, San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, who along with Dean Chell Roberts delivered the opening remarks.

We want to express our deep gratitude for all of our frontline healthcare professionals at the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science. Our USD heroes were featured along with other brave first responders in the San Diego Union-Tribune during National Nurses Week and even our SOLES students joined in by sharing this touching tribute.

Speaking of caring for others, May is Mental Health Month and with finals and commencement ceremonies, this could be a very stressful time for all. Visit our BeWellUSD Instagram for great advice and resources to help you have a safe and healthy end of the year, including information on where and how you can get your COVID-19 vaccine.

As always, thank you for watching and see you next week.
