SAN DIEGO (April 1, 2021) – University of San Diego (USD) School of Law alumna Erin Gibson, ’03 (JD), has been named a co-chair of the US Technology Sector for law firm DLA Piper. Along with two other attorneys, Gibson will lead the firm’s US technology sector, which helps to provide clients with integrated solutions and resources. Gibson is a partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology division of DLA Piper, where she represents technology companies in patent jury trials and in US International Trade Commission proceedings.

Gibson has been recognized for her contributions to the legal field a number of times. She has been named a 2015–2021 Super Lawyer for Intellectual Property litigation in San Diego.  In 2016, Law360 named Gibson a “Rising Star” in Intellectual Property.

Gibson is a former adjunct professor at USD School of Law and is a current member of the Board of Visitors.
