First, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the entire summer program will take place online via Zoom technology. Normally, USD's Humanities Center is the in-person host site. Secondly, the schedule format has changed from a three-consecutive-week block to being offered one week for each of the three summer months.

The Summer 2020 schedule has the first week as June 22-25, the second week is July 27-30 and the final week is August 24-27. Each of those weeks are Monday through Thursday.

Each scheduled day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a technology workshop from 8:30-9:15 a.m., a virtual break from 9:15-9:30 a.m. and then a daily guest speaker/presentation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Attendees will need access to a computer, tablet or smartphone to access Zoom.

Registration fees are $69 for all three weeks, $49 for two weeks (use discount code 2Weeks), and $29 for one week (use discount code 1Week). Please note that registration fees are per household, not per person. Register now.

Alumni Association Virtual Offerings

The class of 2020 just graduated from the University of San Diego, which means the total number of Torero alumni has grown beyond 75,000. As alumni, once you’re a Torero, you’re always a Torero.

During this Covid-19 pandemic where stay-at-home measures remain in place, more people are conducting much of their daily work, meetings or staying in touch with friends and family through online connections.

At USD and through its alumni association, they, too, want to stay in touch and connect with the Torero family. That’s why there are multiple ways to re-connect with USD.

Alumni Zoom Trips is a virtual interview series, webinars, and USD Chats with Senior Alumni Director Charles Bass who has been conversing with alumni both young and classic! There’s bound to be something for everyone.

One other special family-friendly program is the Tiny Toreros Story Time Podcast with narration in English and Spanish by Claudia Iracema Gonzales ’99, ’03, director of international engagement and alumni outreach. The podcast is free and a new story is added each week.

Meanwhile there’s always alumni meet-ups — virtually — around the country. Check out the events calendar for more information.
