What type of work do you do as an Involvement Consultant?

As an Involvement Consultant, I help students find involvement opportunities that align with their passions and interests. In addition to this, I assist student orgs with different processes that can help them with putting on their events at USD.

How do you feel your BN courses have helped you in this area?

I think with any BN course, I've learned a lot about myself and how what I've learned in psych and BN courses really apply to everyday. There's a great deal of learning and communication that goes into being an IC, and I really think that BN has really helped me to do these things effectively and efficiently.

What organizations are you currently involved in?

I am currently involved in the Filipino Ugnayan Student Organization (FUSO) as well as Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity.

How did your involvement in these organizations help you achieve your personal goals?

Being in these organizations, especially with being the President of FUSO, has really made me into the leader that I am today. Being in both of these orgs, I've been given so many opportunities to build communities and work in settings and gain experiences that can be transferable to any professional career.

Do you have any advice for students interested in getting involved in student organizations?

My advice for students interested in getting involved in student organizations is simply to do it! There's no harm in trying and you'll never know what you'll learn, what you'll find, or who you'll meet. Being involved in student organizations had enhanced my college experience and provided me with support and care--some things that would have been hard to find had I not been in student organizations.
