This is your USD News Minute.

USD Athletics recently welcomed Blanche Alverson as the new head coach for women’s basketball at a press conference last Thursday. Alverson is the fourth head coach in program history following a six-year tenure at Georgia Tech, where she helped lead the Yellow Jackets to four postseason runs, including a Sweet 16.

The next Civility Café event is scheduled for Tuesday from 6-7:30 at Salomon Hall. Dr. Casey Dominguez is the guest speaker. She will be sharing advice on “Developing Skills and Knowledge to Act as an Informed and Engaged Citizen.” Civility Cafés feature campus experts who discuss topics related to civil discourse. 

And, on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:15 to 2:15 in the Learning Commons, come check out the Creative Collaborations Showcase. Students will share their undergraduate research and creative projects in a fast-paced presentation-style. Those in attendance can even vote for their favorite presentations. Light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
