This is your USD News Minute.
Calling all undergraduates who are passionate about USD. You could be the 2025 President for a Day, where one student will switch places with Dr. Harris and experience life as the USD President. Applications are now open and the deadline to apply is April 4.
The Center for Inclusion and Diversity held its Annual Diversity and Inclusion Impact Awards. Fifteen faculty, staff, and one unit were honored for their contributions to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. Vice President and Provost Dr. Gail F. Baker was also honored with the establishment of the Gail F. Baker Outstanding Unit Award for Inclusive Excellence in Programming. Moving forward, the Awards are being rededicated as the Sister Sally M. Furay Awards in honor of USD's trailblazing former Provost who championed inclusion and belonging.
And speaking of trailblazers, 4 outstanding USD members from the schools of engineering, soles, law and student affairs were recognized by The San Diego Business Journal as part of the county’s 50 black leaders of influence. Congratulations to these amazing members of our university community doing great work both on and off campus.
We’re also very excited about Men’s Tennis! The team is ranked No. 7 in the nation and beat No. 21 ranked USC last week 4 to 1. Up next, they play in the Ed Collins Invitational at USD this weekend.
Thank you for watching, we’ll see you next week.
