This is your USD News Minute.

The University of San Diego recently earned a STARS gold rating from the AASHE, a national organization that promotes sustainability in higher education. The gold rating recognizes USD as being a leader among the nation's universities for its sustainability programs and renewable energy projects.

On that note, stop by USD’s sustainability summit tomorrow at 12:15 p.m. in the Learning Commons. The event this year will focus on plastic waste among other important issues. Register using the link below. 

It was opening weekend for USD Baseball as the Toreros hosted nationally ranked Horned Frogs for a four-game series at Fowler Park. USD baseball alum Ariel Armas, who won the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award at catcher last summer before being drafted by the Chicago Cubs, had the ceremonial first pitch kicking off the season on Friday.
