University of San Diego’s Board Welcomes Two New Trustees
The University of San Diego (USD) announced Ann Marie Krejcarek and Marina Hernandez, RSCJ, will be joining its Board of Trustees, effective July 1, 2024.
“As the university celebrates its 75th anniversary, we are excited to welcome two exceptional individuals to the Board whose dedication and experience will help us achieve our goal of confronting humanity’s challenges by fostering peace, working for justice and leading with love,” said USD President James T. Harris III, DEd. “Dr. Krejcarek and Sr. Hernandez bring with them a depth of knowledge that will help us further our commitment to these ideals as we craft an exciting vision for USD's next 75 years."
Ann Marie Krejcarek has served as the president of Convent & Stuart Hall since 2012. She is also a member of the Conference of Sacred Education as well as a member of the Society of the Sacred Heart finance committee. Krejcarek is also a certified executive coach. Formerly, she was headmaster at Saint Andrew's School in Boca Raton, Florida, for five years and assistant headmaster of the JK-12 Episcopal school for nearly a decade before that. She previously taught high school physics and began her career as an engineer. Krejcarek received her EdD from Columbia University Teachers College and an MA in education leadership from the University of Georgia. She has two undergraduate degrees from the University of Minnesota, one in engineering and one in science. Ann Marie and her husband Randy have three adult sons and six grandchildren.
Marina Hernandez, RSCJ, is currently a member of the Society of the Sacred Heart United States - Canada Province. She is also a member of the Provincial Team that works directly with the Provincial to live their mission of showing forth God’s love in this changing world today. Sr. Hernandez is the Society link for the Western Region of the Province which includes the Religious of the Sacred Heart and ministries in San Diego, the Bay Area, Redwood City area, Seattle area, and the Oakwood Retirement Community in Atherton. She also serves on the Finance and Investment Committees and the NEWCO Board of Trustees as well as on the Oakwood Advisory Board for her Province. Additionally, she serves on the International Investment Search Committee for her congregation in Rome. She is also on the Board of Trustees for St. Madeleine Sophie's Center for developmentally disabled adults in El Cajon. Sr. Hernandez completed her BA in psychology from the former Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois. She attended the University of Notre Dame for graduate certificates in financial management and administration.
Two board members – Kimberly Koro, JD ‘86, and Tom Lupfer – have been appointed as officers in the roles of Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Koro is senior vice president and general manager of Qualcomm Government Technologies (QGOV), of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. She also serves on the Board of Advisors for USD School of Law. Lupfer is the founder and president of Clarity Design and the co-founder and CTO of Rehabit Health. He is also a professor of practice at USD’s Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering.
Three trustees, Robert Dean ‘94, Matthew Reno ‘80 and Susanne Stanford, JD ‘75, will be rotating off the Board on June 30, 2024.
