This is your USD News Minute.

Weekend 1 of commencement is in the books. Students, family and friends gathered at the Jenny Craig Pavilion to celebrate the class of 2024. Graduates from the School of Law, Professional and Continuing Education as well as SOLES walked across the stage Saturday and Sunday. Visit our website for more information and congratulations Toreros!

Speaking of celebrations the USD School of Law held an event on Friday to recognize the students who have made an impact in the community training at the 12 legal clinics on campus. 101 law students completed nearly 17,000 service hours this year alone. That’s equal to three million dollars worth of legal representation to lower-income and under-served clients in San Diego County.

Our amazing Toreros Softball team will be getting a new stadium and clubhouse. The announcement was made official during a groundbreaking ceremony this week. President James T. Harris and head coach MJ Knighten were joined by supporters who celebrated the start of the $14.5 million dollar project, made possible in part by a lead gift from an anonymous donor. The USD Softball Complex will feature a cutting-edge Dura Edge Collegiate infield and an artificial turf outfield. Additionally, the project includes the installation of modern bullpens, dugouts, press box area, concourse, concession areas, and restrooms. Construction will kick off this summer.

As always, thank you for watching and we’ll see you next week.
