Teach on a Semester at Sea Voyage

Thanks to a generous gift from the Chapman Family Foundation, USD faculty are now eligible to apply to teach on a voyage during Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.

• You do not need to be on sabbatical or take a leave from USD
• You will be paid your normal salary/benefits, and your department will receive funding for a non-benefits-based replacement on campus*
• SAS will provide a stipend to offset travel costs associated with the voyage
• The teaching load is three (3) courses plus field trips and guest lectures
• Companions and family members are welcome!
• Open to tenure-track and full-time benefits-based non-tenure track faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences, KSB* and SMSE*
• Applications are due March 29, 2024. Notification of selection will occur later in the spring

*Eligibility is contingent on Chair/Dean approval
