Call for Nominations for The Diversity and Inclusion Impact Award

Nominate Faculty & Staff in the College of Arts and Sciences,School of Leadership & Educational Sciences&Shiley Marcos School of Engineering

The Diversity & Inclusion Impact Award, open to both faculty and staff, is in recognition of a sustained commitment to justice and ensuring that people from historically marginalized communities receive an excellent education. These persons (the nominees should) have contributed to the promotion of an inclusive and diverse campus climate through their work and mentorship of others, connections with others; commitment to structural change; innovative, substantial and/or continuous contributions to USD's goals for diversity & inclusion. Please send in your nominations by December 1st, using the link attached.  

This award was founded in 2021 with respect to the ongoing process of honoring BIPOC (Black and Indigenous people of color) experiences on campus, and in specific response to the Black Faculty letter of 2020, which noted under-recognized labor on campus with respect to mentorship of BIPOC community members and contributions to cultural change.

The Diversity & Inclusion Impact Award Committee members will review the nominations and select two awardees from each of three participating schools: the College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Leadership and Education Sciences, and the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering. The recipients of the awards will be announced during February 2022. All finalists will be recognized as well.
