"Our newest astronaut class."
"To watch him graduate from the astronaut program was truly amazing and really fulfilling actually."
This is your USD News Minute.
Visibly emotional professor Ernie Kim fights back tears as he talks about one of his former students, Matthew Dominick, who officially became an astronaut alongside fellow USD alum Jonny Kim. Dominick and Kim are now eligible for NASA’s Artemis missions, which will take astronauts to the International Space Station, the moon and even Mars.
Achieving great things of his own, former USD Men’s soccer player Miguel Berry became tied for the highest MLS draft pick in school history as the forward was selected seventh overall in the first round of the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. He's headed to the Columbus Crew.
And if that wasn’t enough to fill your cup with USD pride, our very own President Harris joined professors, students and alumni from the college and the schools of nursing and engineering, on their trip to Uganda where they’ll be working on a water project and other humanitarian work.
As always thanks you for watching, see you next week.
