On Tuesday, Sept. 17, two activities available during this time was a Career Café, hosted by the Career Development Center, in the Hahn University Center’s Forums, and a welcome back barbecue and resource fair for military-connected students and staff in the Tecolote Canyon Patio area on the UC's first floor (See photo slideshow above).

At the Career Café, students could speak with a career counselor, get a LinkedIn professional profile picture, build or change one’s resume, practice their pitch to a career fair recruiter and more. A steady stream of students came through the forum’s rooms over the midday hours.

The military barbecue and fair were also popular and served as a fun, relaxing way for military students to unwind and make connections with each other. Phil’s BBQ was for lunch, Mariposa Ice Cream was served for dessert and the Student Veteran Organization in conjunction the USD Military and Veteran Program raffled off two electric guitars to support upcoming SVO events.

The resource fair had representatives from Onward Opportunity, Wounded Warrior Project and Easter Seals on hand to discuss their organizations for professional development purposes.
