Two weeks out from its season-opening game at Cal Poly, the USD football team hosted its annual tailgate and scrimmage at Torero Stadium on Aug. 17. Alumni, family, boosters and friends heard from head coach Dale Lindsey, enjoyed some food and drinks and then there was some football played.
A few players were rested, but wide receivers Michael Bandy, Alex Spandone and Christian Brown combined for four touchdowns — Brown had two — in the scrimmage.
The Toreros continue practices this week and next in preparation for the Mustangs and the rest of the teams on the 2019 schedule.
