Copley Library Renovation is Underway

Copley Library Renovation is Underway

Copley Library is in full renovation mode for the next year. The Mother Hill Reading Room (aka Harry Potter Room) will serve as the satellite library throughout the renovation. The library will be open for service to the public beginning at 8 a.m. on June 3. Students, faculty, and staff will access the Mother Hill Reading Room through the Camino Hall entrance, as the main doors to Copley are permanently closed for the renovation.

To request either a Copley Library or San Diego Circuit book, please use the catalog. All books will be delivered to campus once each day. Journal articles will be directly delivered to your ILLIAD account as usual. The Access Services Desk (checking-out books, reserves, and interlibrary loan), the Reference Desk, Archives, Special Collections, and Digital Initiatives Department will operate out of the Mother Hill Reading Room.

During the renovation, library personnel will be located in the spaces below:
Mother Hill Reading Room – Access Services and Reference Service
Mother Hill Reading Room (Balcony) - Archives, Special Collections, and Digital Initiatives Department
LRC Lower Level – Technical Services
Modular Building – Dean’s Office and some librarian offices

Additional study spaces during the renovation include:
Mother Hill Reading Room
Student Life Pavillion – open the same hours as library (Fall)
Saint Tekakwitha and Serra Hall open the same hours as library (Fall)

Copley Library faculty and staff are committed to providing excellent services during the renovation period.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Dr. Theresa S. Byrd

Dean of the University Library
