Meanwhile, the USD women’s tennis team (17-4 overall) will begin NCAA Tournament play with a first-round match against Louisiana State University (LSU) on Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m. in the UCLA-hosted Regional at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. In addition to the NCAA team tournaments, both USD teams will be represented in the upcoming NCAA Individuals Championships Tournament later this month.

The men’s team will be represented by three players, Gui Osorio, Joel Gamerov and August Holmgren. Osorio, the 2019 WCC Player of the Year as a junior, will compete in the 64-player singles field as an automatic selection. Gamerov, a junior, and Holmgren, a sophomore, will compete as a doubles team. They, too, received an automatic berth into the 32-team doubles field.

On the women’s side, newly named WCC Freshman of the Year, Solymar Colling, has earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Championships in singles play. She will compete in a 64-player field. Colling was also a WCC first-team selection in singles and doubles.

All four Torero players will compete in their respective tournament brackets May 20-25 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
