Preparing for Passover, Holy Week and Easter

Preparing for Passover, Holy Week and Easter

Join us for a Lenten Penance Service and Stations of the Cross as we prepare for Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter. In addition to those sacred celebrations, University Ministry also offers a full range of spiritual growth opportunities during this last full month of the academic year. Please consider joining us for the following programs.

Lenten Penance Service April 8, 7:00 p.m., The Immaculata

A wonderful way to deepen your experience of Lent, the Lenten Penance Service includes a communal prayer service and examination of conscience as well as the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Stations of the Cross April 10, 8:00 p.m., Founders Chapel

All are welcome to this Lenten tradition of prayer and reflection. By spending time with each of the 14 stations, participants enter more fully into the passion of Jesus, preparing themselves for Holy Week and Easter.

Palm Sunday April 14

Mass in Founders Chapel at 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.

Easter Sunday April 21

No masses in Founders Chapel (students on vacation Apr. 18 - 22). Easter Vigil Mass will be held in The Immaculata at 8:00 p.m. on April 20, and Easter Sunday Mass will be held in the Immaculata at 7:30, 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.

Holy Hour April 23, 7:00 p.m., Founders Chapel

A wonderful way of entering more fully into the Easter season, this month's Holy Hour will focus on New Life. The hour includes silence, praise and worship music, Eucharistic Adoration and a brief reflection on the relevance of Easter for our lives.

Interfaith Seder for Social Justice April 24, 5:30 p.m., Salomon Hall

In partnership with the Jewish Student Union, this interfaith Seder dinner is open to all students. It is a unique chance to learn more about this Jewish tradition as well as the ways in which the Jewish and Christian faiths share common elements. The dinner will also highlight the ongoing significance of the Exodus story.

Women's Retreat April 26 - 28

All female students are invited to participate in this fun and relaxing retreat held at a local beach house. The weekend includes ample time for individual prayer, group reflection, self-care and discussion about the joys and challenges of being women. For more information, please click here.

Sacraments of Initiation April 28

Since most of our students are away for Easter break, we celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation the first Sunday after Easter, once everyone returns. Five students will be baptized and/or receive Eucharist for the first time during this special, joyful Mass.
