USD's Evening MBA Program Ranked 26th in Nation

The University of San Diego’s Evening Master of Business Administration program is ranked 26th in the nation, according to BusinessWeek’s latest list of the top 30 part-time programs.

USD’s Evening MBA program is the only ranked school in San Diego County and one of four southern California business schools to make the top 30.

This also marks the first time that both  USD’s undergraduate and graduate business programs have been ranked in the top 30 by BusinessWeek.

“To have both our undergraduate and graduate programs ranked in the top 30 is an honor and testament to the high quality of our faculty teaching and research,” said David Pyke, dean of USD’s School of Business Administration.

The ratings are based on surveys of academic quality and student satisfaction. USD’s Evening MBA program received an A+ for teaching quality, an A for caliber of classmates and an A for curriculum. USD ranked 22nd for student satisfaction and 25th for academic quality.

“Students are impressed with the personalized service, small classes and access to professors that they find in our program,” said Kacy Hayes, USD’s admissions director for MBA programs. “Students are also attracted to the short-term opportunities for international education offered for working professionals,” she said.

Earlier this fall, USD’s MBA program was ranked in 21st in the world for incorporating social, environmental and ethical issues into its curriculum, according to the Aspen Institute’s 2009-2010 edition of “Beyond Grey Pinstripes.”
