Best-Selling Author of "Never Eat Lunch Alone" to Speak at USD

USD Business School & Yale Club of San Diego Partner for Networking Event

Keith Ferrazzi, best-selling author of “Never Eat Alone: and Other Secrets to Success, One Relationship at a Time,” will speak at a networking reception hosted by the University of San Diego School of Business Administration Alumni Council and the Yale Club of San Diego. The event takes place Monday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at USD’s Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice. A book signing follows the event.

Ferrazzi’s 2005 best-seller established him as one of the preeminent experts on the art of networking and personal relationship building. Ferrazzi served as chief executive officer for YaYa Media, a leading interactive entertainment consultancy. Prior to that, at Starwood Hotels, he oversaw all marketing activities for global brands including Sheraton, Westin, The Luxury Connection, St. Regis and W hotels. He also served as chief marketing officer of Deloitte Consulting where he developed and managed the industry’s first globally integrated marketing organization.

According to Booklist, “Ferrazzi grew up in rural Pennsylvania, the son of a steelworker and a cleaning lady, yet his ability to connect with others led to a scholarship at Yale, a Harvard MBA, and a prestigious partnership at Deloitte Consulting. His skills at creating and maintaining a network of contacts are nothing short of those of a serious presidential contender. … (He) presents a whirlwind of ideas to widen your circle of contacts that goes way beyond the usual stale concepts of ‘networking.’”

Ferrazzi is particularly interested in the relationship between leadership, success and spirituality. He serves as a fellow of the Berkeley College at Yale University. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Kiski School in Pennsylvania. He is the founder and chair of Equality 1st, a foundation focused on assuring that everyone has an equal chance of success. Ferrazzi earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale and a master’s degree in business administration the Harvard Business School.

“We are very pleased to partner with the Yale Club in offering this premiere event for the San Diego business community,” said David Bergheim, director of relationship management for USD’s School of Business Administration.

The cost is $50 per person and $25 for USD and Yale alumni, faculty, staff and students.
