Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program Awarded Funding

The University of San Diego Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program has received a 5-year $900,000 award.

The USD Noyce Scholars Program is a collaborative project including the University of San Diego’s College of Arts and Sciences and School of Leadership and Education Sciences as well as San Diego County school districts.   The goal of the program is to produce much-needed highly qualified secondary science and mathematics teachers for California schools. The comprehensive scholarship program will provide funding for 12 students over three years.  At the completion of the program, USD Noyce Scholars will have earned either their Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) or Master of Education (MED) degrees.  The program will be coordinated by Lisa Baird, Ph.D. (Biology), Jane Friedman, Ph.D. (Mathematics), Jeremy Kua, Ph.D. (Chemistry and Biochemistry), Eric Page, Ph.D. (Physics) and Joi Spencer, Ph.D. (SOLES).
