It is inspiring to see that since the initial launch of The Resilient Entrepreneur series, we have reached over 150 students, faculty, and administrators from the San Diego community and beyond.

As we continue our series on The Resilient Entrepreneur, we are excited to hear directly from our student entrepreneurs. On Thursday, April 30, we will host our first-ever virtual student “Toreros Pitch!” Three teams will pitch in front of two investors and get live feedback and questions allowing for a unique learning opportunity for our audience.

DoubleTake is a SportsTech company that creates cutting edge recruitment videos for high school athletes wanting to get to the next level. We are cleaning up the process through developing Computer Vision Networks to become the one-stop-shop for all sports recruiting needs.

Alison Gerlach has over 20 years of experience as a seasoned executive, serial entrepreneur, strategic management consultant, investor, and lecturer with expertise in, and a passion for, building businesses. Ms. Gerlach has done extensive research in optimizing the business start-up and funding process and has founded and built businesses in a variety of industries. Prior to her entrepreneurial endeavors, she was a strategic management consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton working with Fortune 100 consumer companies. Today, Ms. Gerlach continues to build and invest in high growth companies as the Founder and Managing Partner of Breakthrough Ventures. Breakthrough Ventures works intimately with its portfolio of high growth companies to build market traction and create funding opportunities.
Jeffery Adler is recognized in San Diego for fostering entrepreneurship and social innovation across universities and the broader startup community. He has participated in two TEDx Talks and is featured in several national publications for his work in helping build mission-driven enterprises. Today he leads a talented team at iProtean, a San Diego company determined to redefine virtual education for healthcare leaders. iPro is timely introducing to the American hospital community its first virtual vid-ed enterprise solution. The subscription-based platform drives real-time learning to board members, executive management, and next, physician leaders. In addition to his role as company CEO, Jeffery serves as a strategic advisor to MetisMD, a national teleradiology group. Jeffery is the founder of one of San Diego’s past retail delights, the quick-serve beverage chain, Dlush.
