Dr Josephine Nguyen is a 2003 graduate of Stanford School of Medicine and completed her dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania. In her exciting career in the Navy, she has served overseas as a flight surgeon in Japan, has completed multiple humanitarian aid mission trips overseas, most recently in Vietnam this past summer. She served as the translator for the Commanding Officer of the USS Mercy and met several key military members involved in ambassadorial work in Vietnam. She serves as the Navy's Young Physician Representative to the AMA and is the Deputy Executive Director for the Vietnamese American Armed Forces Association. Her interests are humanitarian aid, health care legislature, and health care in the Asian Community. She will speak about her path to medicine and the surprises she encountered and the realities she learned along the way.
