WorldLink offers a specialized high school internship during the summer, giving youth from both San Diego County and Baja Mexico the opportunity to explore global topics in an in-depth manner. WorldLink summer interns research and create the WorldLink Reader, a classroom tool that provides fellow youth with important knowledge on the annual WorldLink Youth Town Meeting (YTM) topics.

This year’s WorldLink summer interns, Chi Chi Chang, Lily Greenberg Call, David Ilori, Maya Lakshman, Aileen Seo and Josh Trissel, will present their research on the 2013-2014 student-selected theme, Global Conflicts: Human Impact, Human Solutions. Student interns will present their conclusions, focusing on five subtopics: Poverty and Hunger, Global Health, Environment and Land, Human Protection and Peace Processes.

Light refreshments will be served.

WorldLink ~ Connecting Youth to Global Affairs is a unique, year-round program of the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice (IPJ) at the Kroc School of Peace Studies that provides opportunities for high school youth to meet world leaders and experts. Students learn about challenges facing us locally and internationally, and engage in thoughtful discussions about solutions in a forum where their voices are heard and valued.
