Members of the San Diego area bench and bar and the University of San Diego School of Law community will gather in USD's Founders Chapel to participate in the Red Mass—a liturgy held to mark the opening of the judicial year.

The Red Mass is an occasion of prayerful petition and thanksgiving for all members of the legal profession, regardless of religious affiliation. Legal professionals and law students of all religious traditions are invited to attend.

Coadjutor Bishop Cirilo Flores will be our celebrant. Bishop Flores, an attorney and graduate of Stanford Law School, will succeed Bishop Brom as diocesan bishop later this year.

A reception will follow in Founders Foyer. A response is requested for the reception to help obtain an accurate catering count. Please respond by September 23, 2013.
