His Royal Highness Prince Mired Raad Zeid Al-Hussein delivered a lecture at the Kroc School titled “Protecting People: A Personal Journey from Banning Anti-Personnel Mines to Assisting Syrian Refugees”.

Following studies at Tufts University and Sandhurst, Prince Mired spent several years in the Jordanian Armed Forces. He them completed masters degrees at the Fletcher School and Cambridge. From 2007-8, he served as President of the Eighth Meeting of State Parties to the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention. Since 2010, His Royal Highness has served as Special Envoy on the Universalization of the Convention. In addition to these global responsibilities, in Jordan Prince Mired is Chairman of the National Committee for Demining and Rehabilitation, President of the Hashemite Convention for Disabled Soldiers, and Vice President of the Higher Council for the Affairs of People with Disabilities.
