The Office of Sustainability has partnered with the Changemaker Hub, Outdoor Adventures, Residential Life, Dining Services and other on campus clubs and departments to host Earth Day Celebration 2013. Festivities will take place in Plaza Mayor (in front of the Student Life Pavilion) during dead hours on Tuesday, April 23. Local vendors will have plenty of goodies that support sustainability as well as fair trade products to educate the USD community about this campus designation and the importance of buying fair trade products.
At the celebration, the Changemaker Hub will announce the winner from the One Challenge video submission receiving a $2,000 prize, as well as recognize the office departments that participated in the One Challenge. This will be a fun event to celebrate the steps USD has already taken towards sustainability and to announce where the university plans to go in terms of becoming a more sustainable campus.
