Pilipino Culture Night (PCN) is a celebration of the culture of Filipino-American culture through the performing arts. Traditionally, there is a performance of a student-written play, intermixed with performances of traditional and modern dances. This year, the student-written play "The Storybook" recounts the life of a Filipino-American, Cameron Reyes. When Cameron starts telling the tales that he grew up with to his own son, he is able to remember how the values and lessons that he learned from the stories provided insight into how he should handle difficult situations regarding his own life.
PCN is on Saturday, March 16, 2013. The pre-show, including performances by Carissa Rae and Michael Alvarado, as well as Bibak San Diego Youth and Southwestern College Hip Hop, starts at 5:30 p.m. and "The Storybook" starts at 7 p.m. Food will be provided at intermission. Admission is free.
