2013 International Women of Courage Awards Celebration
The prestigious U.S. Secretary of State’s Award for International Women of Courage recognizes women around the globe who have shown exceptional courage and leadership in advocating for women's rights and empowerment, often at great personal risk. Since the inception of this annual award in 2007, the Department of State has honored 46 women from 34 different countries.
Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of the International Women of Courage award recipients, selected by Secretary of State John Kerry and First Lady Michelle Obama; and featuring keynote speaker, San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis.
A reception will be held following the program, featuring refreshments and the opportunity to meet our honored guests.
