Steve Sumner joined the faculty of the University of San Diego's Knauss School of Business in 2003. His areas of specialization include macroeconomics, monetary economics, banking and applied econometrics. Prior to his graduate work he spent several years working at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington D.C. He is currently teaching undergraduate courses in macroeconomics and money and banking. His primary research interest is in understanding the importance of financial intermediation for the distortion of economic shocks to the real economy.
