Ted Falk has been teaching at USD since 2019. He specializes in Middle East, Islamic, and Jewish history, with a focus on non-Muslim minorities in Ottoman Syria and Lebanon. His research interests involve national and racial identity formation in French missionary schools in Syria and Lebanon. At USD, he has taught courses on the Middle East and North Africa, Political Islam and Secularism, Palestine/Israel, and Jewish history
