MA Counseling, specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
When did you begin your program, and when do you anticipate completing it?
I began the program in Fall 2015 and anticipate completing in Spring 2018.
What is your background? For example, where are you from, where else have you earned a degree, and where have you worked?
I was born in the Philippines and moved to Los Angeles, CA when I was six years old. I attended University of California, Santa Barbara for my undergrad and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Applied Psychology. During my undergrad, I volunteered and worked with children of all ages and truly enjoyed it. I found working and interacting with children to be very rewarding. Following graduation, I worked as a pre-school teacher as well as a behavior therapist for children with autism. I also volunteered at the Pediatric Hematology Oncology department in a children’s hospital and as a research assistant at the University of California, Los Angeles in Pediatric Neurology. I have always enjoyed working with children and promoting overall well-being throughout most of my life so far.
