"Joan B. Kroc Foundation" Alert

Please be advised that we have been notified of a fraudulent email campaign sent worldwide involving an alleged "Joan B. Kroc Foundation." We have been informed by the personal representatives of Mrs. Kroc's estate that the Joan B. Kroc Foundation does not exist, and that these messages are a scam, a hoax and a fraud. It is suggested that you do not respond to such fraudulent emails and that you ignore the correspondence.

The Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice (KIPJ) building is home to the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice and the Trans-Border Institute. It is located on the University of San Diego (USD) campus in San Diego, California.

Driving Directions

From the North

1. Use I-5 (South), exit at Sea World Drive and Tecolote Road (just past the Hilton Hotel on Mission Bay).
2. Turn left on Tecolote Road.
3. Right at Morena Blvd.
4. Left on Napa Street to Linda Vista Road.
5. Make a left at the second stoplight on Linda Vista Road onto Marian Way, USD's West Entrance.
6. Stop at the information kiosk and obtain a parking permit.
7. Visitors may take the campus tram to the venue or walk up the hill.
   

From the South

1. Use I-5 (North) to I-8 (East) and exit at the first exit, Morena Blvd.
2. Follow Morena Blvd, and bear right onto Linda Vista Road.
3. Make a left at the second stoplight on Linda Vista Road onto Marian Way, USD's West Entrance.
4. Stop at the information kiosk and obtain a parking permit.
5. Visitors may take the campus tram to the venue or walk up the hill.
   

From the East

1. Use I-8 (West), exit at Morena Blvd.
2. Bear right onto Linda Vista Road.
3. Make a left at the second stoplight on Linda Vista Road onto Marian Way, USD's West Entrance.
4. Stop at the information kiosk and obtain a parking permit..
5. Visitors may take the campus tram to the venue or walk up the hill.
   

Parking

Visitors must obtain a white parking permit from the information kiosks at either entrance to the campus (denoted with an "i" on the map).

During the semester (late January-May and September-December) all visitors park in the West Parking Lot and take a campus tram to the venue or walk up the hill. The Institute is the first building on the right at the top of the hill. All other times of the year, parking is available in the garage under the KIPJ and on adjacent streets. Always park in white lined spaces ONLY or you may be fined/towed.

If you are attending a meeting or special event, plan extra time to find parking.

Public Transportation Directions from Old Town Transit Center

From the Old Town Transit Center, board a bus on route 44 toward Clairemont. Exit the bus at the stop on the corner of Marian Way and Linda Vista Road, approximately five minutes from Old Town Transit Center. Turn left onto Marian Way (you should see a USD sign at the cross streets). You may walk up the hill or take the campus shuttle service. There are shuttle stops, with designated signs, on the right side of Marian Way, about halfway up the hill. Once you have reached the crest of the hill, the IPJ will be the first building on your right. It can be easily recognized by the water fountain in the courtyard, in front of the large double doors.
