Symposium Call for Submissions

2025-2026 Call for Volume 63 Symposium Submissions!

Symposium: “American Trade at the Border,” presented by the San Diego Law Review

Date: April 2026

Call for Submissions

The San Diego Law Review is pleased to announce the 2026 symposium: “American Trade at the Border.” Located right by the United States-Mexico Border and on the Pacific Rim, the San Diego Law Review is uniquely positioned to foster scholarship and host an event that explores issues of domestic trade law in relation to cross-border ties. The symposium will feature scholarship and discussion on the impact of trade deals and tariffs on trade relations at the border, administrative law, economics, and policymaking.

We are seeking scholars including professors, judges, practitioners, experts, and students to submit their work for publication in the San Diego Law Review’s Volume 63 Symposium Issue and for presentation at a symposium event in April 2026. Authors may submit completed manuscripts for submissions.

San Diego Law Review will consider completed manuscripts of varying lengths and formats. Previous symposia have published speeches, debates, essays, and articles. Ultimately, the San Diego Law Review is seeking meaningful contributions to the body of legal scholarship, which may arise in various forms.

Submissions may not have been previously published or pending review with another journal.

Submission Deadline and Review Process: Articles normally have a minimum of 8,000 to 12,000 words with a minimum of 150 footnotes, which is strongly preferred. Longer submissions will also be considered. Completed submissions are due by January 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST, in Word Document format.

Manuscripts may be submitted through Scholastica or e-mailed to usdjournals@gmail.com. E-mail submissions must have the following subject line: "American Trade at the Border Symposium Submission." The email should include two attachments: (1) a resume or CV; and (2) a copy of the manuscript.

The San Diego Law Review will communicate decisions on a rolling basis with the last decisions communicated no later than January 31, 2026.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
San Diego Law Review
