The University of San Diego School of Law's advocacy programs provide the opportunity for student advocates to compete in national and international trial, appellate, arbitration and transactional tournaments. The advocacy programs also help students to develop important professional skills that they will utilize throughout their careers practicing law.
National Mock Trial Team
Competing in five major tournaments each year, the National Mock Trial Team is dedicated to teaching the art of trial advocacy and molding strong future litigators.
Appellate Moot Court Board
Competing in numerous tournaments every year and organizing several tournaments itself, the Appellate Moot Court Board fosters and encourages the development of appellate advocacy skills among USD law students.
Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (VICAM)
Competing in the area of international commercial law and arbitration around the world, VICAM fosters the development of international legal writing, arbitration and oral advocacy skills among its members while promoting professionalism and academic excellence.
Transactional Law Team
Competing in various transactional meets every year, the Transactional Law Team provides a forum for USD law students to hone their corporate and transactional law skills, to learn transactional research and drafting and to further develop their negotiation techniques.
Alternative Dispute Resolution Team
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Team (formerly known as the Client Advocacy Team) fosters and encourages the development of client advocacy skills among USD law students while developing and maintaining USD's reputation for excellence in client advocacy training in the professional and academic communities.
