Certificate Programs at USD School of Law
The University of San Diego School of Law is proud to offer specialized certificate programs designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the U.S. legal system. These programs are ideal for international legal professionals, students, and practitioners who want to expand their understanding of American law while developing practical skills in a supportive and dynamic academic environment.
Our certificate offerings cover essential topics such as U.S. legal history, business law, litigation techniques, and legal English. Programs are available both online and in person at our beautiful San Diego campus, allowing participants the flexibility to choose the learning format that best meets their needs.
To further enrich your educational experience, we invite you to explore our LLM in U.S. Law Programs, available both on Campus in San Diego and fully Online.
This one-year program begins each fall and offers the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of essential areas of American law while fostering a collaborative and diverse learning environment.
Mediation for Legal Professionals Certificate Program
Dates: Fall Semester (August - December 2026)
Cost: $550 per credit (9 credits total $4,950)
General Objectives
To equip participants with practical and theoretical skills in negotiation and alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and online dispute resolution, with a focus on international commercial disputes. The program emphasizes experiential learning and prepares participants to effectively manage and resolve disputes in cross-border and professional settings.
