How to Declare a Business Major

Ready to declare a business major at the Knauss School of Business? Follow these steps.

Step1

Attend a Declaration of Major session

Register for one of the sessions below at least 24 hours in advance. If you are already declared but want to change your major or minor, skip the declaration of major session and contact your academic advisor instead. If you are only declaring a minor, you do not need to attend a session.

*The following sessions are only open to current USD students. New transfer students will be sent separate onboarding session information.

Thursday, August 13, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (ZOOM)

Step2

Get an assigned academic advisor

After attending a declaration of major session, you will be assigned a business academic advisor with whom you can schedule an appointment. Your advisor can share information about the Knauss School of Business, your major course curriculum and academic resources available to you.

Step3

Attend a Passport Program orientation

All newly declared business students must attend a Passport Program orientation within two weeks of declaring your major. You can find upcoming orientation dates here.

If you have questions about this, please contact the career development center, at careers@sandiego.edu.

A hold will be placed on your account if this requirement is not completed.

Once you're a declared business student, make sure to take advantage of the full Knauss student experience.
