Professional Experience

Ursin was an attorney for three years in the Honors Program of the Office of the General Counsel of the Department of the Air Force. During this time he also served as assistant general counsel, Task Force on Protest, National Commission of the Causes and Prevention of Violence. He taught at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law from 1970-75 and joined the USD School of Law faculty in 1975.

Honors and Affiliations

After graduating Phi Beta Kappa, with distinction and honors in economics from Stanford University, Ursin studied law at Stanford, where he was the recent developments editor of the Stanford Law Review. He was named a USD University Professor in 1996 and the law school's Class of 1975 Endowed Chair from 2001 to 2005. Ursin is a member of the Order of the Coif.
