Industrial and Systems Engineering
Faculty Search
The Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) department invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position at all ranks (assistant/associate/full professor) to begin in Fall 2024. We are on a mission to create new courses and programs in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can elevate our data and computational competencies across disciplines as well as define new knowledge areas. We are seeking dynamic, forward-thinking leaders to spearhead our endeavor. The successful candidate will not only be a leading voice within the department but also champion the integration of Data Science and AI across the entire campus. The successful candidate may receive faculty appointment in ISyE or another department within the School of Engineering related to Data Science and AI.
We seek candidates with expertise in various ISyE methods and artificial intelligence (AI) for modeling, analyzing, integrating, or optimizing complex systems. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the interplay between ISyE and Data Science/AI applications in specific domain(s) including (but not limited to): supply chains and logistics, financial systems and financial technology (FinTech), sustainability, manufacturing, transportation, and/or energy systems. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a proven record of leadership and are keen to assume leadership roles in the future. The successful candidate is expected to play a pivotal role in designing courses and curriculum in Data Science and AI.
The successful candidate should have an earned Ph.D. in a relevant engineering, math, computing, or science discipline. The selected candidate will be expected to teach courses primarily at undergraduate level, mentor and advise students, and maintain an active research program. Candidates able to work across disciplinary boundaries to enhance the use of data science and AI in multiple disciplines are especially encouraged to apply.
