Future Students

"USD is a small school with incredible faculty. At a large public university, I would ask my questions to a TA; but here I get to ask Dr. Maren Mossman directly about her research with NASA. I can an ask Dr. Kathleen Kramer for advice about my resume based on her experience as the global President of the IEEE. They know my name and care about my education because I am 1 of 20 students not 1 of 200."

"Integrated Engineering at USD stands out for its hands-on, interdisciplinary approach and incredibly supportive faculty. So much of our learning is project-based, making it exciting to apply concepts across mechanical, electrical, and biomedical engineering while researching embedded systems. The program fosters collaboration and diverse perspectives, allowing me to bring my full identity into engineering. This community has given me a true sense of belonging and constantly challenges me to think critically about the technical, social and ethical impacts of my work."

“As a woman in computer science, I've found unparalleled support and mentorship in this close-knit community, enabling me to thrive academically and personally. Whether collaborating on projects or seeking guidance, the accessibility and encouragement from faculty and my peers alike have enriched my learning experience. Through these connections, I've cultivated a sense of belonging that transcends the classroom.”

"At USD, I've gained invaluable experience as a mechanical engineering student with a minor in physics. I've been involved with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and founded a rocketry club to introduce aerospace activities to campus. The hands-on learning approach, coupled with supportive faculty, has fueled my growth. USD's tight-knit community, resources and inspiring professors have been essential in my academic and professional development."
