How to Declare Your Major

Step1

Research Your Options

As an undeclared student, we encourage you to work with our academic advisor to explore majors that align with your interests and strengths; connect with current students, faculty and student organizations for insight; and take a course or two to weigh your options.

Step2

Complete Declaration of Major Form

Fill out the Declaration of Major form. Note: Students can declare a major after April 15 of their first year and up to the end of their second year at USD.

Step3

Meet Your Faculty Advisor

After completing your Declaration of Major form, you'll be assigned a major faculty advisor. Schedule an appointment to discuss major course requirements, explore academic and career options and get connected with campus resources.
