The Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering has made great strides to expand our programs, projects and curriculum and we are still growing. We count on gifts of all sizes to help us educate the next generation of holistic engineers. Gifts support engineering and computer science student scholarships, lab renovations, community projects and many other areas. Every gift helps us move forward!!

Center for Cybersecurity Technology and Engineering

The Center for Cybersecurity Technology and Engineering is a self-funded community resource dedicated to providing the space, tools and opportunity for our community members to increase their cybersecurity awareness and knowledge.

Clarity Design Student Support Fund

Provides support for computer science and engineering students to attend student organization national conferences designed to bolster internship and career opportunities.

David Malicky Endowed Scholarship

To honor the memory of Professor of Mechanical Engineering David Malicky, PhD, we have created an endowed scholarship in his name in memory of his dedication to his students and hands-on learning.

Dean's Innovation Fund

The Dean's Innovation Fund provides the flexibility to take advantage of unexpected opportunities as they arise and to support new project ideas.

Electrical Engineering Lab Renovations

Renovation plans are underway for two electrical engineering labs to bring the spaces up to 21st century pedagogical and technological standards.

Engineering and Computer Science Alumni Council Scholarship

This is the first alumni-driven scholarship that supports engineering and computer science students, awarding $1,000 to each of the five majors in the School of Engineering. Funds are awarded based on financial need.

Engineering and Entrepreneurship Program

Help our engineering and computer science students take their innovative ideas to the next level and launch their own startup companies through the Engineering and Entrepreneurship program at USD.

Engineering Baja SAE Car Project

Each year, students in their senior year build a car from the ground up which they compete in national competitions. Support provides materials, equipment and enables competition participation.

Engineering Exchange for Social Justice Fund

Support community partnership-driven initiatives for co-created, justice-oriented solutions to sociotechnical challenges.

Engineering Scholarship Fund

Provides support for engineering and computer science students to complete their USD educations.

Humanitarian Engineering Projects

Support will be used to work hand-in-hand with communities in developing countries to co-create sustainable water filtration and energy systems.

Imagine the Future Scholarship Fund

Provides scholarship support for students in the Master of Science in Engineering Sustainability and Health (MESH) program, who are creating solutions to the world’s most complex and interconnected challenges.

Industry Partners Program

Funding will be used to support essential materials and equipment needed to complete hands-on, real-world capstone design projects.

International Computer Science and Engineering Scholarship

Provides support for international students to attend USD, with a preference for students from under-resourced countries.

Larry Kull Student Award Fund

To honor Dr. Larry Kull's memory, his friends and former colleagues established this award, which will provide student engineering and entrepreneurship awards in perpetuity.

Master of Science, Engineering Sustainability and Health

The Master of Science in Engineering Sustainability and Health (MESH) degree program is designed to enable professionals from multiple disciplinary and cultural backgrounds to work together to co-define problems and co-create solutions to our most pressing health and sustainability issues.

Rick Olson Endowed Scholarship

There are few USD engineering students who do not benefit from the guidance of Rick Olson, PhD. An engineering alumnus gifted $50,000 to create an endowed scholarship in Dr. Olson's name to provide scholarship support to deserving engineering students.

Sam Burt Engineering Memorial Scholarship

To honor the memory of Lab Technician, Sam Burt, we have created an endowed scholarship in his name in memory of his dedication to his students and hands-on learning.

Senior Design Projects

Funding will be used to support essential materials and equipment needed to complete hands-on, real-world capstone design projects.
