The Industry Scholars Program (ISP) is a year-long, co-curricular professional development experience designed for engineering and computing students who are ready to go beyond the classroom. Through a series of honest, real-time conversations with alumni, employers, founders and industry professionals, ISP creates space for the questions that don't have easy answers — about careers, the workforce, graduate school, salary negotiation, entrepreneurship and what it actually takes to thrive after graduation.
This is not a resume workshop. This is real talk about a workforce that is changing faster than anyone predicted — and a program built to help you navigate it with confidence, clarity and a community behind you.
Beyond the Classroom
A Year of Real Talk, Real Connections and Real Preparation
The Industry Scholars Program brings together a carefully selected cohort of engineering and computing students for six sessions across the academic year — each one designed around a topic that matters right now. Alumni panels. Speed mock interviews with real feedback. Salary negotiation workshops. Conversations about AI and the evolving workforce. Startup life versus corporate culture. Graduate school as a career strategy. These are not hypothetical discussions, they are honest exchanges with professionals who have lived it and are ready to tell you what they wish someone had told them. Along the way, scholars build a professional network, develop the habits and confidence to advocate for themselves and leave the program with a clearer sense of who they are and where they want to go.

Today's engineering and computing students are navigating a workforce shaped by artificial intelligence, economic uncertainty and a job market that looks nothing like what previous generations prepared for. They have real questions — and they need real people to help them answer those questions honestly.
The Industry Scholars Program is actively recruiting alumni, industry professionals and campus partners to engage with our students in meaningful ways throughout the 2026-27 academic year. Whether you want to sit on a panel, serve as a mock interviewer, mentor a student one-on-one or share your story through our social media spotlight — there is a place for you here. Your expertise matters. Your experience matters. And the students who sit in these sessions will carry what you share with them long after graduation.
