Electrical Engineering
Faculty Search
The engineering program at the University of San Diego was founded with the launch of its Electrical Engineering department. Our graduates are highly sought after by industry and research programs across the country, and our students are actively engaged and contribute to the mission of the department and the University. Our faculty is devoted to challenging and inspiring students to become Changemaking. Our alumni are leaders in the technology industry and their community.
Successful candidates should have at least a doctorate in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field at the time of employment for a tenure-track position, or at least 10 years of industry experience and a bachelors in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field for a contract position. Candidates from all areas in computer and electrical engineering are encouraged to apply, with particular interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Image Processing and Computer Vision, Wearables, Cyber Physical Systems, Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics, Systems Biology and Synthetic Biology. In addition to teaching, candidates will be expected to develop an active research program as a faculty scholar on “changemaking” real-world problems, and would be encouraged to involve undergraduate students in their research.
We encourage applications from candidates who are interested in research and pedagogy across disciplinary boundaries within a collaborative environment in areas such as embodied and embedded intelligence, bioX, soft robotics, the design of computational systems using quantum principles, biometrics, intelligent systems, and research that addresses the challenges present in the nexus of energy, water, food and health.
