Cyber Security Youth Pathway

Empowering the next generation of Cyber-AI innovators

The USD Center for Cyber Security Engineering and Technology has developed an interactive pathway for high school students to expand their knowledge, skills and ethical foundation in cybersecurity and AI. These programs equip students with critical tools and insights at a pivotal stage in their education, preparing them to become future leaders in the field. Through formal instruction from USD's Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering faculty, hands-on experience with cybersecurity and AI defense tools, and engagement with industry sponsors and expert speakers, participants gain practical problem-solving abilities, a clearer understanding of academic pathways and exposure to emerging career opportunities in Cyber-AI.

Summer Youth Program

Cyber-AI @ USD

Cyber-AI @ USD is an immersive, five-day summer program designed to introduce high school students to the evolving world of cybersecurity, where artificial intelligence plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and defense strategies. This hands-on program blends foundational cybersecurity principles with AI-powered solutions, allowing students to engage in cutting-edge simulations, interactive labs and real-world problem-solving. Participants will build and secure virtual environments, explore AI-driven threat detection and response and gain insights into the future of Cyber-AI engineering. Designed for college-bound 10th, 11th, and 12th graders, this program empowers the next generation of innovators with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the rapidly changing digital security landscape.
