2025 Author E. Hughes Career Achievement Award
Matthew Dominick '05
The Author E. Hughes Career Achievement Award is presented annually to an alumnus/alumna who graduated from the University of San Diego ten or more years ago, in recognition of their extraordinary career achievements.
The recipient of this award embodies the mission and values of the university; consistently excels in his or her profession; positively impacts his or her organization, industry, profession and/or community; and personifies ethical leadership.
Matthew Dominick '05 (EE) is a NASA astronaut and spent seven months aboard the International Space Station in 2024-25, serving as the Commander of the SpaceX Crew-8 mission.
