School of Law Commencement Reception
Location: Plaza de San Diego (outdoor area between Warren & Maher Hall)
11 a.m.
Enjoy light appetizers, refreshments, and the perfect opportunity to take photos on our beautiful campus. Shuttle service will be available from JCP arena directly to Warren Hall.
The USD School of Law commencement ceremony will be webcast live and will be available for replay after commencement.
By entering and participating in this event, you acknowledge that photography and/or videography may occur. Your presence constitutes your consent to being photographed or filmed, and to the use of those images or recordings for advertising and promotional materials for this event. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please inform the event organizers or photographers.

We expect the law commencement ceremony to be about 2-2.5 hours.
Every graduate at Commencement must wear a cap and gown. View the Commencement Checklist for further information.
Tickets are not required to attend the School of Law Commencement Ceremony. If needed, we will open an "overflow" seating area located behind the stage, although we anticipate not needing this section, which may have an obstructed view. All seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and we recommend arriving early for the best seating options.
Family who are alumni of USD School of Law can participate in congratulating graduates on stage at the commencement ceremony. Any graduating student who wishes to have their relative(s) participate must email the Office for Law Student Affairs (see Commencement Checklist for due date). Participation in the commencement ceremony entails the relative sitting on stage, wearing regalia and presenting the student with their diploma during the presentation of candidates. Please note that this process must be initiated by the student.
Come dressed in your gown, your USD hood, mortarboard or tam, tassel, and any commencement cords. Shoes are required! Staff will be present to ensure your graduation attire is appropriately displayed — so if you do not know how to put on the hood, tam or accessories, that is okay — we do!
Bring only your graduation ticket. Avoid bringing anything that you cannot keep in your pockets as it is not guaranteed that you will return to your original seat after receiving your diploma. Staff cannot hold or secure your personal items.

The USD School of Law commencement ceremony will be streamed online on the USD Commencement website. The link will go live on the day of commencement.
Diplomas will be mailed directly to graduates after class rank and honors have been determined (approximately mid-July). It is very important that you ensure that your contact information and mailing address are up-to-date in the MySanDiego portal in order to receive your diploma in a timely manner.
You will receive any awarded Concentration Certificates and your Honors Brochure at the same address mid-summer.
