Day-of Instructions for Guests and Graduates

• Aerosols, mace, or pepper spray
• Animals, or assistance animals, except for service dogs, specifically trained to assist a person with a disability
• Bags or backpacks larger than 12" x 12" x 20"
• Banners, flags, signs, or placards or any other object that may block the view of others
• Coolers
• Drones
• Explosives
• Fireworks
• Knives (regardless of size)
• Large golf umbrellas and long pole objects, balloons and any other floating items that may block the view of others
• Laser lights and laser pointers
• Noisemakers, such as air horns, whistles, or drums
• Plastic replica of weapons
• Portable or folding chairs
• Sharp, and/or pointed objects, scissors, or knitting needles
• Tripods for cameras
• Umbrellas and long pole objects, balloons and other floating items, or other items that block the view of other guests
• Voice-enhancement devices such as bullhorns
• Weapons

Accessible seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and is available at the entrance level on sections 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 21, 23, 24, and 26. Accessible seating is intended for a guest in need and one companion, however the full row of seats immediately below the ADA row, will be reserved at a first-come, first-served basis, for additional family members of those who use the ADA seats.

Vehicles with ADA placecard parking can be found on-campus in the Main Parking Structure. ADA placards should be clearly visible for officers to provide direction to the appropriate parking area. An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be available at the corner of the stage during the ceremony. Graduates should contact Law Student Affairs if they would like this accommodation.

Guests requiring an ASL interpreter should be seated in the front rows of Section #8. Contact a volunteer usher for assistance.

New Mother's Lactation Room is in room 155 and is open to everyone (graduates and guests).

From the main lobby guests entrance, take the elevator down to the first floor and signs will direct you to the room.

Graduates- If you intend to use the room before or during the ceremony, please have a family member/friend meet you in Room 155 with the baby at the time of use. Children are not allowed on the arena floor and guests cannot meet in the JCP dock. Notify Law Student Affairs for assistance.

Graduate participation is guided by the The Student Code of Rights and Responsibilities. Individuals should refrain from approaching the stage until they are directed to do so. Anyone approaching the stage at any other time during the ceremony will be escorted out of the building by staff members.

Please be respectful of the graduates and keep noise levels to a minimum so names can be clearly heard by those in the attendance.

Any object impeding the ceremony or experience for others will be confiscated by staff members. See the full list of prohibited items.

Adherence to the University of San Diego's alcohol policy will be strictly enforced. No alcoholic beverages of any kind are permitted to be brought onto campus or into the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
