USD's Center for Digital Civil Society offers easily accessible courses and resources for USD faculty, staff, students and community members who are interested in learning more about artificial intelligence. Our aim is to create a community of informed citizens who are equipped to contribute positively to foster a more equitable and transparent digital society. Upon completion of micro courses, students will receive a digital badge.

Generative AI

Generative AI is technology that creates new data rather than simply analyzing or categorizing existing data. AI tools such as ChatGPT use pre-trained language models, which takes text prompts from users and produces responses that are supposed to mimic human writing in dialogue format. Notable features include its ability to answer questions, hold a conversation, summarize information, write computer code, and more. The following Center for Educational Excellence (CEE) resources are meant to support you as we continue to learn about generative AI's evolution.
